It's been a WONDERFUL two months since we opened our new practice location in Pembroke, MA. It has been going very well, better than I even imagined. It is such a relief after a very long and more difficult transition here than anticipated. This being the second practice I've owned and built from scratch I've learned to keep my expectations very low, stay humble, and be persistent. The community here on the south shore is a very active one. There are so many events, classes, and things to do here that it really keeps people engaged locally. My network has grown organically over the last two years even before I opened I have been meeting wonderful practitioners all along the way. My chiropractor introduced me to my midwife who we ended up switching and doing a home birth with and from there I was introduced to an entire wonderful birth community here! Now I have a whole village of amazing practitioners to call upon with questions and refer to with clients! Doulas, lactation consultants, fitness instructors, support groups, physical therapists, you name it! My fellow mom friends I've made here are so amazing and I feel really blessed to have them. I've learned it truly does take a village to raise a child! Our daughter is thriving and grows more adorable every day. It's hard to remember what life was like without her and I don't even want to.
What I think is more important than ever being a business owner, mother, and wife is to raise each other up. Support each other no matter what. Even if you don't agree or have a different opinion or outlook, just being present for somebody is a really powerful thing. It says, "Hey, you don't have to do this alone. I'm going to be right here with you and we'll do it together." We're all here on this planet to learn from one another no matter what the lesson is. I believe in the ripple effect of random acts of kindness and the positive impact you can make on somebody's life no matter if it's for a day, a year, or a lifetime. It may sound cliche, but it truly does make a difference in the world.
Well that's all for now, I promise to get better at more frequent posts now that the whirlwind of 2015-2016 has settled down.
Namaste and take good care,
